Verdict

We only have small field going to post for this handicap but nonetheless it looks very competitive and we will side with CHOOKIE HAMILTON to get the better of River Ardeche and Trip The Light. The selection is on the hat-trick mission here but he won well at Carlisle last time and he could still be one step ahead of the handicapper. River Ardeche returns to the level after a spin over hurdles but his best form has been with cut in the ground and on that basis he may be best watched today. Trip The Light won well at Catterick back in April but he is arguably better over further than this and although he should run his race, others are preferred. Grand Art disappointed last time but he had previously won well at York and if he can reproduce that form here today he would have a big chance. Valdan has won over the course and distance and is another to consider, but in a trappy event the vote goes to Chookie Hamilton.
