Older horses have a slightly better record than three-year-olds in this but the younger generation hold sway this time. WITHHOLD made a belated debut in a Haydock maiden three weeks ago and though never really threatening did enough to suggest a race of this nature should be within his capabilities. Ice Galley is by Galileo so will find stepping up to this trip from the 1m2f he ran over at Pontefract should be to his liking. Goldmember wasn't far behind Midterm at Newbury in October and should be better for his comeback at Newmarket, though he didn't run very well. Edge Of Reason found things happening too quickly at Chelmsford and will have come on a bundle for the experience while the former Aidan O'Brien inmate Gran Paradiso looks a smart recruit for Micky Hammond.
