Indian Spark took this event twelve months ago and is taken to stage a repeat performance under Frankie Dettori. The veteran sprinter has shown himself to be in excellent heart at present with promising placed efforts under a welter burden in a Doncaster handicap and a conditions event at Nottingham. Both starts were over the minimum trip and the nine-year-old finished strongly on both occasions to suggest the extra furlong here will prove ideal. David Nicholls appears to have a strong hand but Bahamian Pirate may need the outing and would prefer easier conditions while Funfair Wane failed to sparkle on his recent comeback at Doncaster and Proud Native has something to find on these terms. Abbajabba and Halmahera are useful handicappers but both make their seasonal reappearance and would need to be close to their very best to trouble the selection.
