A minefield this maiden, with the vast majority having their first public outing, but we'll shortlist two with experience and a newcomer, and tentatively select Captain Imperial to get the better of Big Apple Boy and Chilly Filly. The pick has had two encouraging runs to date, being placed in a similar contest last time out, and also has the best draw. Big Apple Boy was 4th on debut in a better maiden, and if there's improvement for Jedd O'Keefe's only runner on the card, he could go close. Chilly Filly is Mark Johnston's debutant, and will undoubtedly attract some support, despite the high draw. A market watch is advised here, as most of these could be anything, but if experience is to count, we'll go with captain Imperial.
