SAFARI SONG is our pick in this contest with Peaceful Rule and King's Counsel likely to give him plenty to think about. Bryan Smart's colt had struggled on his first two starts but that recent effort lives in the memory and given that that was his first run of the season; we believe that he can build upon that performance to score. Peaceful Rule has been knocking on the door for some time. He wasn't far away from the target in a recent Redcar maiden but that is of little consequence to those who took part in a sizeable gamble on that occasion. King's Counsel represents an unfashionable yard. The form of his fourth to Amazing Blue Sky has been given a terrific boost since and if he can handle the drop to a mile, he has to be a player. Green Agenda is much better than his Ascot form suggests though the handicapper has had plenty of chance to take a look at him. Ykikamoocow was bitterly disappointing at Catterick having shaped well at the track a month previously. She should stay this trip on breeding. Chantilly Pearl was the subject of a large on course gamble at Redcar last month. The market is watched to see whether those punters are back to chase losses. Gordy Bee makes a handicap debut having struggled in soft ground maidens. Safari Song gets our vote on potential rather than the actuality of the formbook.
