NO QUARTER is taken to follow up last season's success. Tracy Waggott's gelding holds few secrets from the handicapper but he's a genuine 7f performer and he likes it here. Connor Beasley is proving to be one of the leading apprentices in the North and he continues his association with Cara's Request. Fourth in this race last season, he has to race off a 2lb higher mark in this renewal but Michael Dods' team have made a pulsating start to the Flat campaign. Secret City is a previous winner over 6f at the track, and with blinkers reapplied, goes on the short-list. Orpsie Boy has a sizeable lay-off to overcome, though he's 18lb lower than the mark off which he won over course and distance two seasons ago so any market confidence behind Ruth Carr's veteran should not be ignored.
