In depth

Verdict

Dermot Weld has won two of the last four of these and BACKDROP can continue the sequence. She's no world-beater but showed very good pace on her reappearance behind Kerkeni at Naas and provided she settles better should be good enough. Nedera was a long way behind and looks held as does Cultured Lady, who was almost 3l behind the selection at Dundalk in October. Focas Mor could be more of a threat as though she was well beaten on her debut at the Curragh in October her pedigree suggests she is much more likely to do better in her second season. Nancy Rose has been staying on over this trip and may need a bit further but Mouskersize makes a quick reappearance after a staying-on effort over 6f at the Curragh on Monday.
