Clifftop Heaven was staying on over 1m2f at Doncaster and is likely to be the pick of Mark Walford’s trio in this. Monsaraz was a shock winner at Pontefract nine days ago and has been raised 5lb but has now proved his stamina. GRAND CANAL will likely be a warm order in this, however, as he won in a canter at Yarmouth despite still showing signs of inexperience. He is a half-brother to a winning hurdler so the extra quarter-mile should bring about further improvement. Greengage could make the frame but it’s hard to make a case for many of the others.
