NEPTUNE EQUESTER is a smart performer over hurdles and fences and was having only his fourth start on the Flat when comfortably landing a maiden handicap at Carlisle last month when Word Of Warning was well behind. He's been put up 6lb for that success but is still potentially well treated and should take all the beating here if there is a decent gallop. Soprano also won easily at Carlisle last time and should make a bold bid to defy his penalty, while jockey bookings suggest Simple Jim is the pick of David O'Meara's two runners. Newcastle third Silent Lucidity can't be ruled out but White Deer may find this too great a test of stamina and Folk Tune doesn't win very often.
