Ruth Carr trained the first two home in last year's renewal and won both divisions of this in 2011, one of them with IMPERIAL DJAY. He reached a high mark of 97 last season but, 12lb lower and dropped in class today, should go very close again. He's just preferred to Llewellyn, runner-up here a fortnight ago in lesser company. Chester Aristocrat seems better over 6f while Kalk Bay will find today's trip short enough on his return to action. Trip and ground will suit Roninski, though he'll need to dig a bit deeper off today's higher mark having won at Lingfield last week. Mont Ras carries a penalty for Thursday's win at the same track and Jessie's Spirit, a dual winner as a two-year-old, is facing a tough task on her first start since 2011.
