Tariq Too has a bit to find on today's terms but there's little between the remainder on official ratings. Saying that, both The Cheka and Bannock arrive out of sorts so the latter's stablemate Lockwood and DIESCENTRIC may end up fighting this one out. The former ran well for third behind another Godolphin runner, French Navy, in a Listed contest at Windsor last time but Julie Camacho's charge is just preferred. He won a couple of competitive handicaps over today's trip in June and looks capable of holding his own in this better company judged on the ease of his latest success at Newcastle.
Bannock (IRE) 5-4fav (9-1) Led narrowly, headed 4f out, outpaced 2f out, soon ridden and beaten, no chance with front pair final furlong, 3rd of 4, 9l behind Set The Trend (9-9) at Haydock 7f cond Stakes (3) gf in Jul.
Diescentric (USA) 9-2 (9-6) Held up mid-division, smooth headway 2f out, challenged going well over 1f out, shaken up to lead entering final furlong, ran on, well in command towards finish, won at Newcastle 7f hcp 105 (2) gs in Jun beating Bertiewhittle (9-7) by 2 1/2l, 11 ran.
Lockwood 3-1 (9-4) Tracked leader, challenged 4f out, pushed along 3f out, lost 2nd over 1f out, edged left entering final furlong, no extra close home, 3rd of 4, 1 3/4l behind French Navy (9-7) at Windsor 1m Listed stks 3yo (1) gd in Jun.
The Cheka (IRE) 28-1 (9-8) Close up, weakened over 1f out, 15th of 17, 25l behind Society Rock (9-13) at York 6f Grp 2 (1) gs in May.
