Verdict
It can pay to seek out the value in races of this nature and SENATE MAJORITY is a speculative selection to get the better of his stablemate Midnight Martini, while Mahiki is an interesting contender on these terms; especially given the way he has won his last two starts. Mahiki needed to dig deep for victory on both those occasions but rallied to hold sway at the line. He does need to prove he can be as effective on turf, though. Midnight Martini won at Carlisle last time out and the form was given a bit of a boost at York at the weekend. That was an improved effort from the Night Shift filly and there can be no doubting that she is going the right way. There handicapper has given her a chance and a big effort can be anticipated. As the top weight in a nursery, Kingdom Of Light is also worth a mention. He did little wrong at York last month and is worth bearing in mind if supported in the betting ring. However, it can also pay to take a chance that Senate Majority can improve now he tries handicapping for the first time. He was allowed to coast home in his own time when his chance had gone at Ripon last time out; and considering his yard are in much better form just now, this son of Avonbridge can provide us with a good run for the money at very fair odds.
