Although Karamea is very unlikely to fulfill her Oaks entry she has shown enough promise in her previous starts to suggest a race of this nature is hers for the taking and she is confidently expected to pay for the long journey up from West Sussex today. The James Bethel-trained Havetoavit is obviously nothing special but, can scrap it out with Calonnog for the minor honours today - while Albee has it all to do at the weights and is best watched on his turf debut. Not many of the rest have really caught the imagination to date and are passed over for the time being. Therefore, this looks to be a good bit of placement by John Dunlop in a bid to boost the paddocks value of Karamea and the daughter of Rainbow Quest is too hard to ignore in this company.
