Verdict

After easy victories in a bumper and a Chepstow maiden hurdle, Brave Kingdom was elevated into Grade 2 company at Sandown and started a short-priced favourite but was very disappointing. Mr Tambourine Man has also disappointed since arriving from Ireland where he won a Killarney maiden convincingly. Justified, three times a winner on the Flat for Mark Johnston, didn't jump with any fluency at Fakenham though looks certain to improve but this can go to LAST ROYAL. A winning bumper, he reappeared after a very long break with a close third at Chepstow and was travelling easily when falling three out at Huntingdon on Boxing Day. Five-times all-weather winner Social City and bumper winner Wolfspear are others to note.
