Verdict

BRAHMS DE CLERMONT was readily beaten by the progressive Momella when second at Fakenham last month but meets nothing of that calibre in this unless Philip Hobbs’ newcomer Barn Hill proves to be above average. Paul Nicholls’ charge gets the vote to shrug off a penalty for an earlier success at Exeter and come out best. Desiremoi D'authie disappointed at Ascot last time having run well at Huntingdon on his earlier hurdling debut but the remainder have shown little so far.
