In depth

Verdict

Simber Hill is a useful hurdler but is proving even better over the larger obstacles and is the TEAMtalk selection to overcome a double penalty against weak opposition. The Philip Hobbs-trained gelding has held his form well since recording back-to-back handicap victories in July and, with trip and going ideal, should take plenty of beating. Chase debutant Douceur Des Songes has been expensive to follow over hurdles since taking a novice event at Uttoxeter in June and is far from certain to stay the trip. Lady Turk has been disappointing of late including when unseating on her chasing bow at Exeter last week and looks worth opposing once again.
