In depth

Verdict

Big Fella Thanks is difficult to oppose despite his penalty; the race for second could be won by Richard's Sundance although Reidwil and Team Chaser are of interest. The selection, a winner of an Irish point, ground out a ten length victory on his Rules debut at Chepstow earlier this month. The form looked fair, he has the scope to go on to better things and he should have too much firepower for this opposition. Richard's Sundance is progressing steadily and posted a career best when stepped up to 2 miles 6 last time at Wincanton where he finished second to Kornati Kid. That form leaves him with plenty to find though and the more unexposed Reidwil and Team Chaser may threaten more. The former never threatened the leaders at Uttoxeter last time but could fare better here if ridden more prominently. He has his stamina to prove but he has shaped like a stayer and could make the frame. There's little doubt that bumper winner Team Chaser will relish a trip in the fullness of time and he's one to watch with interest but he's set a difficult task on his hurdling bow and will do well to lower the colours of the selection, Big Fella Thanks.
