Spring Dawn is just about the pick of those with hurdling experience. Placed once in four bumper starts, he was returning from a very long absence to finish third at Huntingdon and is likely to improve for that. Under Construction put up a similar effort when third on his hurdling debut at Newton Abbot. However, there is a good chance that this may go to a debutant, and Cosi Fan Tutte must be high on the list. A winner at Nottingham on the flat this year, he seems a versatile sort who will handle most types of ground and is sure to be well primed for this hurdling debut. Hill Magic is an interesting dark horse. He was rated 100 at one time on the flat, though admittedly has deteriorated somewhat since then. The TEAMtalk selection here, however, is Shalako. This Kingmambo gelding was a decent performer on the flat in Germany, having won four times. His last start saw him finish second behind Translucid, who has already made his mark over hurdles here, and from a yard in good form Shalako is fancied to get off to a winning start.
