This could be another victory for Evan Williams on this card where he saddles DEEP PURPLE who should take the beating with Mon Michel and Mister Whatizname the likely challengers. The selection was rated at 140 over hurdles after claiming a number of classy events. He did disappoint in his chasing debut with a number of errors which put pay to his chances, despite schooling well. He should improve from the experience and I'm sure the trainer has worked on him sine his last effort. If he jumps only marginally better he should land this. Gary Moore's Mon Michel switches to fences for the first time here after beginning to find life over timer a struggle. Rated as high as 127 over the smaller obstacles he was a listed winner in that sphere but recent performances have been disappointing. Surface conditions seem to be in his favour as is the trip and on his best hurdles form he has chances. Mister Watizname cost connections ¿70,000 after a promising, but short, hurdles career that included a grade two novice victory. He showed well on his chasing debut last time finishing fourth of 11 in testing ground at Carlisle. He's bound to improve from that and has the potential to be useful at this level. Dominican Monk is another facing a steeplechase debut but the gelding returned with promise over hurdles after a season on the sidelines. There was plenty to like about that effort and with a decent rating over timber could at least place. However Deep Purple looks to be too strong, if taking to chasing, for this company.
