      Verdict

      GENERAL GINGER found only odds-on shot Modus too good over a longer trip here last time. He's won over 2m before and a repeat of his latest effort should see him go close again. Nesterenko has been competing in better company than this but was behind Vicenzo Mio when the latter finished third in a Listed contest at Sandown in December. By contrast, Retro Valley landed a double in lower grade juvenile hurdles at Market Rasen last summer and is preferred to the struggling Tamarillo Grove.
