In depth

Verdict

Winning bumper Benny's Secret showed a little bit of promise over timber before his jumping went to pieces and he's hardly one to have confidence in. Ca Le Ferra has shown potential in bumpers but hasn't run for a year while Motion To Strike may have been fortunate to land a point in November and ran poorly in a Newcastle bumper last time. Ryalex scored between the flags at Loughrea in October and wouldn't need to be a world-beater to get involved here but in a poor opener it's TOWERBURN, who at least has shown some promise on good ground over timber, who gets the nod in the expectation the going will dry out further. Broad Spectrum was beaten a long way on his bumper debut on this track though the ground was very heavy and Donald McCain's winning point-to-pointer can probably do better.
