A busy day for Martin Pipe and Paul Nicholls' stables and Alikat can take the measure of Kadam in our finale. Sixth in the Fred Winter race at Cheltenham, the handicapper has been a little mischevious in sticking him up 1lb for that effort. However from a punting perspective, the horse has already won around here over course and distance and should have no problems with handling the prevailing ground conditions. Kadam appeared to appreciate the application of blinkers to score a maiden success at Newton Abbot. The time was a particularly slow one and on all evidence we've seen thus far, a rise of 10lb is hardly leniency on the part of the handicapper. Ava's Delight looks a better sort for the step up in trip. If you back her do not expect to see her until later on in the race. Madison de Vonaas did post some nice work behind Voy Por Ustedes at Huntingdon earlier in the season but failed to capitalise upon it on his most recent start. Lyrical Way will have few problems with fast ground conditions but has obviously had his training troubles over the last few months. Medici is best watched tonight. A fascinating race in which Alikat is nominated as our selection.
