Verdict

A small but competitive field goes to post for this handicap chase and all of the runners can be given a good chance of winning but the vote goes to Palouse. The selection has improved with each run of late and won well last time out when defeating Dragon King. He has another penalty for that win which will make things harder but he won with a little in hand and under conditions that suit he is taken to defy the handicapper again. Lord Strickland rates the main danger he two is improving with each run but he took a heavy fall last time out and he is hard to back with any confidence until we know if his confidence has been effected. Breaking Breeze won well last time out when defeating Sir Norman but his best form is over a shorter trip so he is passed over on this occasion. Fear Siuil has dropped to a handy mark and could go well at a price but he has become very disappointing of late and for the winner we return to Palouse.
