It should pay to follow those at the top of the handicap here, although Garruth will do well to actually win it. Norlandic was reckoned fit enough to do the business at Exeter despite a year off the track so it was no disgrace to tire and finish third. He does sometimes clout the odd fence so is no good thing but should play a part. Majestic Bay had a Flat rating of 108 but has become hard to win with. However, there was a lot to like about his chase debut second to Tallow Bay at Folkestone three weeks ago, and he will improve. Hidden Valley does not possess the same scope at the age of 11 but was staying on well here last time over shorter. He is not guaranteed to get the trip but the stable are in better form now and Tony McCoy will extract every last bit of stamina out of him. Hidden Valley gets the vote.
