Francois Doumen sends over Silver Stud, a useful maiden over hurdles in France, while fellow Gallic raider Lillium de Cotte was well behind Nas Na Riogh at Chepstow. They both come up against some promising home contenders, notably Seratonin and Duke of Earl. The latter was 12 lengths behind Triumph fancy Don Fernando in Grade 2 company at Cheltenham and should be in the shake-up. Serotonin, a mile and a quarter winner on the Flat for Roger Charlton, was flattered by his proximity to The Last Cast in the Steel Plate Trial Juvenile Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham in January, as Vanormix parted company with Tony McCoy after the last. Nevertheless he is open to improvement and is taken to prevail. Master Papa's form does not look that good, while debutante Mr Hawkeye was plating class for Willie Haggas on the Flat.
