Verdict

Paul Nicholls has won this with short-priced favourites in the last two years and there will be plenty of support for Blu Cavalier, who made all over 2m at Wincanton last time having shown decent form over longer trips earlier. He’s rated 7lb higher than DENTLEY DE MEE but Nick Williams’ charge showed improved form last time when only finding one too good in a Grade 3 handicap at Sandown and he could spring a surprise if the cheekpieces work a second time. Book Direct was second twice in the autumn of 2016 but that looks a big ask after a lengthy absence and winning pointer Ruby Fool will also do well to challenge the penalised winners.
