In depth

Verdict

REBEL DU MAQUIS looks capable of giving weight and a beating to his six rivals following a thoroughly impressive chasing debut at Cheltenham last month. He may only have faced three rivals on that occasion but they were useful performers in their own right and he readily accounted for them in scoring by 20 lengths. Anquetta has returned a beaten favourite on his last three starts and didn't look entirely straightforward so it would be no surprise if Lake Legend, who progressed well over hurdles prior to disappointing at the Cheltenham Festival, emerged as the biggest danger. Double Dash is no forlorn hope having gone close on his chase bow but he looks to have a little to find with the principals and may prefer a stiffer test.
