In depth

Verdict

El Kaldoun made a winning start over fences at Hexham, beating a subsequent winner, but didn’t get very far at Southwell a month later. Saint De Reve is making his chasing bow having jumper poorly over hurdles at Aintree on his reappearance. Finalshot fell at Fakenham after placing at Wincanton and Hereford winner Monbeg Theatre was tailed off next time at Sedgefield. But Storm Home was still travelling when coming to grief here in October and may have more scope than No Hidden Charges and Mr Clarkson. I'd Better Go Now is due a good run but PALMERS HILL has always looked the type to make a chaser so we’ll take a chance on the fitness of Jonjo O’Neill’s lightly-raced seven-year-old.
