Verdict

Minellatillmorning completed a double over hurdles last season, including the final race at this meeting, and was returning from a break when making his chasing debut at Chepstow where he made a bad mistake at the fourth and never got into the race. Midnight Chill showed glimpses of ability over hurdles but is a much better chaser, scoring at Sedgefield and Catterick and running well behind New Millennium, who was receiving 10lb, at Leicester. Railroad Junkie has won twice over fences, both over the minimum trip, though he's 10lb higher than when scoring here in December. The veteran Spring Wolf was having only his second start in almost two years when scoring with something in hand at Exeter. He's 7lb higher but has only had six races in his career so is entitled to make progress though CRACKING DESTINY (NAP) looks the one to be on. Ian Williams' charge gave notice of better to come when just beaten on his chasing bow at Bangor then duly obliged at Wincanton where he was always travelling like a winner.
