In depth

Verdict

Ede's has been extremely progressive over the course of the last two months and bids for his fifth win in a row here. Versatile in terms of ground conditions and racing with just a 6lb penalty here, on the evidence of his last victory he will take a deal of stopping here before the handicapper eventually grabs hold of him. Graet Tsar is of interest on his second handicap outing. Held up last time on what was his handicap debut, he didn't have the legs to go with the leading pair and finished in the style of a horse that needed further. Soft ground conditions would not have been ideal either. Sandymac has posted some respectable efforts in what were hotter contests than that of today's. He was badly hampered, when incidently well supported, coming out of the back straight over the course on his last outing and consequently his rider lost his iron. Supported should be treated with real interest. Wild Tonto hails from a yard in form but ironically he has been out of form of late. Ede's will be difficult to beat and is selected with Sandymac posing as the potential danger to ending his winning sequence.
