Medici has shown enough to warrant support over Armariver, with Montgermont, Double Header and Mr Boo just four main dangers. Bridget Nicholls will be delighted if she can get the better of Paul's runner Armariver here, and on the evidence so far, there is every chance that Medici will put a smile on her face today. The seven-year-old carried a penalty for a previous win here at Taunton when failing to follow up on a return visit in January. A mistake at the last that day did not help his cause, otherwise he would surely have given Sesame Rambler a bigger fright, and a clear round should make him the one to beat. Armariver is a half-brother to Armaturk so his future no doubt lies over fences, but the step up in trip today from his promising Bangor effort behind Rebel Rhythm should see him play a prominent role. Montgermont is going the right way, and his third to Cheltenham-bound Pole Star at Newbury the time before last was very encouraging to say the least. Double Header was pulled up at Exeter but had scrambled home there the time before. Mr Boo was not beaten far at Huntingdon last time and has winning form to his name and is another to consider for a place at least. Martha's Kinsman makes his debut over hurdles and is best watched today, with Medici holding all the aces.
