In depth

Verdict

This is competitive and MAGIC MARMALADE is recommended in the hope he's ready to roll after landing his last two runs in the spring. He was a narrow winner on both occasions but revealed a determined attitude to prevail and has only been raised an acceptable 6lb for those victories. Trip and ground are ideal. Bathwick Man is in good form this term and looks on a fair mark, with the only concern being that he's yet to score over this far. He should go well though, likewise Marju King who looked progressive in ordinary handicaps until floundering in a quagmire last time. His talented young rider, Thomas Garner, rode his first winner on the Flat this week and looks good value for his claim. Rathnaroughy and Lucky Lukey are also respected.
