In depth

Verdict

LEONCAVALLO has run twice over hurdles here and won both. His only start over fences in 2018 resulted in an odds-on defeat but a fine run on the Flat at Sandown last month, his first for David Pipe, will have put him spot-on. His former handler has Yccs Portocervo entered and he scored over timber here in September. West Coast Flyer, six-times an all-weather winner, completed a double over timber last summer but ran poorly when tackling this trip at Worcester in October. Denmead has won twice over hurdles and ran in the Northumberland Plate last month but Haul Away looks a more likely threat. He completed a four-timer over hurdles in 2018 and his only run last year resulted in a decent effort in a Class 2 hurdle at Aintree.
