Verdict

A race that makes little appeal as a betting medium. Strength in the saddle will be as important as the form book so Lucy Alexander's mount Jumeirah Liberty could be worth a second look as the seven-year-old is also the only course and distance winner in the line-up. Youm Jamil won over fences at Southwell last month but is one of four carrying more than his allotted weight. The Shropshire Lad may do better in first-time blinkers but Brodie Hampson can steer VEXILLUM back into the winner's enclosure. He has the best recent form, despite being a beaten favourite at Newton Abbot last month.
