Tanikos would have claims if able to reproduce the form that he showed when winning at Newbury last month but Nicky Henderson's gelding disappointed at the same venue on a return visit last month and a safer bet looks to be Tarongo, who is preferred to Polar Scout. The last mentioned resumed winning ways at Doncaster last month and has to be respected but has been done few favours by the handicapper. Talbot Lad sprung a surprise when successful at Ludlow last time but will find things tougher off a 5lb higher mark today. Martin Todhunter's Benrajah is capable but could do with being dropped a few more pounds and of more interest may be Andrew Balding's Duchamp, who is closely matched with Tanikos on Newbury form. The vote though goes to Tarongo, who has been much improved of late with two wins at Plumpton and is taken to complete a hat-trick today.
