Verdict

Vaillant Nonantais was a close-up third on his debut at Fontwell and got even closer when runner-up over course and distance last month. But he may have to settle for a place again behind AMIRR, who looked sure to win on his debut at Southwell when hitting the front but was just run out of it in the closing stages. He'll have improved for that and gets the nod. Miss Lucarno and Whispering Speed are both likely to have benefited from their opening runs while Tilinisi may prove best of the newcomers.
