Golden Rambler will be hard to beat and is a confident choice over Lord Of Illusion, with Zaffre Noir expected to offer token resistance in a race that will take little winning. Jonjo O'Neill has plenty of ammunition here today, none stronger than Golden Rambler who lines up in search of a hat-trick after wins at Southwell and Uttoxeter. The former dual hurdles winner has been very impressive since being sent over fences and although he would not want conditions any faster, has the class to add to his tally. He is quite highly rated at Jackdaws Castle and connections will be disappointed if he does not pop in again. He certainly appears to be a decent prospect and has nothing to fear from any of these, although Lord Of Illusion will be expected to give a good account. Tom George's seven-year-old was all out to beat Benefit at Wetherby though and will have to show more to trouble the selection. Zaffre Noir has not won for three years, hence his appearance in this company as novice, and this frustrating sort is passed over along with point-to-point winner Court Alert. They will all have to go some to stop Golden Rambler.
