Verdict
Golden Quest is the only one in the field proven over the trip and he is taken to score in the opener at the main expense of Coventina and Le Tiss. The colt from the Mark Johnston yard won well at Sandown last time out when defeating Considine. He showed a terrific attitude that day in the face of some serious challenges, and as Considine went on to frank the form at Yarmouth on Thursday when beating Ilwadod, the form of that race has a rock solid look to it. Coventina and Tudor Bell are closely matched on their form at Windsor when the latter narrowly prevailed, but they are not proven over this trip and for that reason we are happy to overlook them on this occasion. Le Tiss could therefore rate as the main danger, even though he is another that has yet to prove he stays the trip. However, he has won on this track, and the form of that win has worked out well, as he beat Habanero here over a mile who went on to win well at Sandown on Friday. This is a good race to get the card underway, and Golden Quest has all the ticks in the right boxes and is given the confident vote.
