Not the worst handicap chase we've ever seen and Champagne Harry looks the one to be on, with Balladeer respected and others in with a chance. Champagne Harry is ultra consistent, having won three of his last five starts and been second on the other two occasions. Those who follow sequences may want to oppose here, but those who follow form will see that the Nigel Twiston-Davies trained gelding was a very easy scorer at Perth over a similar trip last time. He jumps well, handles good ground, and despite top weight he may be ahead of the assessor here on his handicap debut, so he is taken to score. Balladeer has been rested since pulling up at Newbury at last year's Hennessy meeting. He handles a sound surface well and thrives at this trip, so if he is straight enough he can get heavily involved. Ronald Jack won a poor Towcester maiden chase last time for David Pipe but under that handler he could turn out to be anything and an eye on the market is advised. Rash Moment was a c&d scorer last time and with his claimer up he has a feather weight to carry here, so can't be dismissed lightly, while The King Of Angels also has solid enough form over fences so far to be considered a leading light here. But Champagne Harry has some very good recent form and experience and can add another win to his tally.
