Back in trip here Kingscape is likely to be short in the market but should prove too strong for Vilcabamba and Poliglotti. James Fanshawe does particularly well with his select band of jumpers and Kingscape, a decent flat race performer in his own right should possess too much class. Just the two outings to date over obstacles, he made his debut in a Newbury contest won by the smart Group Captain, where he was tenderly handled once his chance had gone. Last time connections stepped him up in class and distance which appeared to be his undoing as he never got involved. This is a major drop in class and he should be good enough. Vilcabamba has two promising bumper outings, finishing runner up in both and was well supported to land a Uttoxeter contest last time. He obviously had displayed something at home to warrent that support but failed to settle in that contest. If he can transfer his bumper form back to hurdles he has to be considered. Poliglotti failed to progress last time in a falsely run affair but did display promise at Huntingdon on his penultimate start over hurdles. He will be eligable for handicaps after this and that is probably where he will succeed. Prince Emmanuel is worth a mention on the basis of a third placing in an Irish winners during last summer. That was another falsely run event and he has failed to progress since joining Ian Williams but market support should be noted. Fomer Jonjo O'Neill inmate Just Intersky was noted staying on to good effect last time and is another where any market support should observed. Kingscape is taken to step up on his two hurdle outings to date and land this.
