Crosse Fire has won 13 times on the Fibresand including last year’s renewal of a higher mark. He beat the likes of Airglow, Zylan and Samovar on that occasion with stablemate DARK SHOT (NAP) finishing third. But the latter has tumbled down the weights subsequently having raced solely on Turf so far this year and making only his third appearance on this surface, local trainer Scott Dixon’s charge could run a big race. Aleef beat several of these when scoring here in March including Doc Sportello while Zapper Cass has a fine strike rate on the Fibresand though has to race off a 10lb higher mark than when scoring at Chepstow recently. Young Tiger and Requited are others with form at the track in an open affair.
