A chance is taken that EBERT can reverse recent form with Rapid City, while Black Falcon is another to consider in this modest contest. The last named is a notoriously hard ride but Robert Winston appears to be getting to the bottom of how to manage the gelding. During the race, Winston is likely to have to sit and suffer if history repeats itself, but the partnership may well stay on too strongly for the majority; so a place in the frame could easily be on the agenda. Rapid City got first run on the selection when they met at Lingfield nine days ago. And he is likely to go all out in his repeat bid. However, it would come as no surprise to see Paul Hanagan bring Ebert into the argument a little sooner this afternoon and, with a bit of luck, he can turn things around for the six-year-old.
