chased leaders, ridden over 3f out, headway over 2f out, ridden and one pace from over 1f out
close up, outpaced over 3f out, rallyed approaching final furlong, kept on inside
chased leaders, ridden over 3f out, weakened over 1f out
dwelt, pulled hard, chased leaders 4f
with leader, led over 3f out, driven out
slowly away, behind, never troubled leaders
slowly into stride, towards rear, never nearer
chased leaders, weakened quickly over 2f out
This looks a poor maiden and Ben Casey gets the vote to land it ahead of Zorn and Amorist. The selection is no world-beater but showed enough in five starts on turf to suggest that he would be good enough to beat this bunch, provided that he is fit enough for his reappearance this afternoon. Zorn has claims on the pick of his form but has been beaten in plating class and banded stakes races of late and, as a long-standing maiden, looks worth taking on. Secret Vision has claims on official BHB ratings but has failed to live up to the promise shown on his debut at Salisbury in August in two starts at Wolverhampton this winter. The switch to the Fibresand may help the daughter of Distant View but she is difficult to recommend on recent evidence. Michael Chapman's Government is open to improvement and is another worthy of a mention along with Paul Blockley's Arctic Queen, although a bigger threat may come from Amorist. Sir Mark Prescott's gelding has shown only limited ability in two starts so far but drops in trip today and any market support would be of interest. Ben Casey has an obvious chance in a weak race though and looks the percentage call.
