Angelo's Pride is getting the hang of things now and can prove too good for Galloway Mac and Macpursie. Jamie Osborne had his best season last year and has been keeping one or two ticking over on the all-weather, including Angelo's Pride who improved on his previous efforts when finishing a head runner-up to Goldbricker on the latest of his four starts at Wolverhampton a week ago. The third horse was 15 lengths away, and although the winner is nothing special, it was still a good effort, and connections will be dismayed if the son of Young Ern cannot go one better here. The drop back to six furlongs definitely did not help Galloway Mac at Southwell last time, as he was woefully outpaced. His two earlier efforts over slightly longer were just as poor, and despite being trained by former sprint specialist Bill O'Gorman, he really shapes as though he needs much further. Macpursie needed the experience on her debut here nine days ago and is bred to stay around a mile. In receipt of weight from the others, she can take a hand, but will do well to beat the selection, Angelo's Pride.
