A difficult race in which Surdoue is preferred to Yashin and Liquid Lover. Surdoue might lack size but there is no lack of heart. Always held in some regard when with George Margarson, she is now with Paul Howling. Well drawn this afternoon, she will be able to gain her customary early lead and will be doubtless engaged in another game of "catch me if you can". She beat Yashin last week although that rival is 2lb better in on this occasion. The blinkers are left on Yashin today. Liquid Lover will be of interest given the combination of Brisbourne and Ahern. She is still a maiden but stays the trip and we advise that the market is inspected. Ice and Fire behind on their most recent meeting. Lough Bow has won over twelve furlongs on turf and is dropped back to eleven furlongs this afternoon. Spanish Star seems to have been racing since time began and she will be staying on again at the finish. Marcus Tregoning cast-off Alqaayid has been doing much of his recent racing in France. He returns after a four month layoff and should be better suited to today's distance. Surdoue has been the most consistent of these and we will stick with her on this occasion.
