Miracle Ridge is selected ahead of Leah's Pride and Beamsley Beacon. The eleven-year-old was a ready winner of a similar race at the track, he was able to track across to the centre and repel all raiders. He clearly isnt the horse he once was but he will always give a good account of himself in races of this nature. Leah's Pride is very interesting. This will be only her second career start at Southwell. She does not appear to get six furlongs and in that context, her run at Wolverhampton from a wide draw does offer a modicum of encouragement. Beamsley Beacon put up another fair effort over six furlongs. He has ability but appears extremely difficult to win with. Boanerges is in good fettle at the moment. Robert Winston has been booked for the mount and the rider will need to be at his best to steer home the winner from the box draw. Off Hire has it to do at these terms but winning form on this surface counts for plenty and he can give a good account of himself at decent odds. Freshwinds is making a first drop into the grade. Miracle Ridge is nominated in the opener.
