Laura Morgan and Patrick Cowley are a combination to be feared around here but it’s difficult to make a case for Ulis De Vassy from 8lb out of the handicap. Brian Boranha may be capable of further improvement this year but hasn’t raced since September. Net Work Rouge and Ballyboker Breeze have even longer absences to overcome and are best watched while Our Kaempfer has been pulled up in his last three runs over fences. Maestro Royal has never won on anything quicker than good to soft but Remind Me Later is a consistent sort and has decent claims in first-time cheekpieces. PLAISIR D’AMOUR appeared to handle the step up to 3m at Perth and is back on a winning mark. Venetia Williams’ mare could be the answer to a tricky puzzle.
