      Verdict

      Neither of the pair with experience showed much on the debuts and this could prove an above average maiden. The Godolphin colt Leading Spirit is out of a smart mare who scored on numerous occasions over this trip so he should have pace to burn. LEGENDS OF WAR, a $200,000 yearling, cost 900,000gns after the breeze-up in April so connections will be expecting a quick return from the son of Scat Daddy. San Donato cost 500,000gns and is the first foal of a mare who won over this trip as a juvenile and is from a very speedy family. Wiretap is from the first crop of triple Group 1-winning miler Charm Spirit out of a 5f winner so he's another who should have plenty of genuine pace.
