In depth

Verdict

A tight knit affair and Blue Hills is picked in preference to Three Boars and Pheidias. Course and distance form counts for plenty here and Blue Hills, who won over 1m6f at the track in previously gets the nod. He went on to win an amateur riders race at Wolverhampton following that effort and if staying the trip, is the one to be on. Three Boars is another with course form. Steve Gollings' stable are running well and if he stays, he has a solid chance. Pheidias has proved frustrating over hurdles. Bought out of the Marcus Tregoning academy, he could be anything on a return to the level. Leyte Gulf attracted little interest first time up. Dreams Jewel is fresh from a recent victory over hurdles while Habitual Dancer, who is better known as a staying hurdler, has two disappointing runs over timber to answer for. A fascinating finale and Blue Hills gets the nod.
