In depth

Verdict

Ice Mayden never figured over 7f here a fortnight ago and STOUT CORTEZ is preferred on his course debut. A runner-up on soft ground at Nottingham last time, the Johnston colt may well take to this surface. He makes more appeal than Framed Masterpiece, but a couple of newcomers may give him something to think about. Lesha is worth a second glance in the betting and New Colours is a rare runner at this track for his yard and can count a Southwell winner amongst his winning relatives.
